SUPPERSTUDIO DESIGNS CODORNÍU’S NEW RANGE OF WINES IN CANS

The design firm Supperstudio was in charge of directing the project for Codorníu’s new range of wines in cans, Codorníu Spritz.  The new design sought to bring the brand’s history closer to the younger public. In addition, the aesthetics of Catalan modernism and its decorative motifs are recovered.

Two facts that attract the attention of consumers are the decorative style and the naturalistic images characteristic of Catalan modernism in the 21st century. This translates into a new variety of sparkling wine on the go, Codorníu Spritz, in a can.

Through the color and the names of each flavor, the design approaches a “young, exclusive and chic target”, the agency said in a press release. Gaudí inspires the visual of the designs, from the background made with tiles to the typographies. The Catalan winery continues to innovate and is committed to an on-the-go format, with a low alcohol content (5.5%) and natural flavors. The new range comes with three references, with orange, lemon and raspberry flavors.

The canned wine market will continue to grow in the coming years. According to Grand View Research estimates, the global market is expected to reach US$571.8 million at an annual rate of 13.2%.
