Robert Bunting, grandson of Robert Bunting, was named the new president and CEO of the large conglomerate. Last October 1, he succeeded Bob Bunting as president. On October 1, 2022, Robert succeeded his father, Bob Bunting, in overseeing the continued growth of the global Bunting group.
Bunting® Company is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of magnetic separators, metal detectors, material handling, magnetic impression cylinders, magnets, magnet assemblies and magnetizing equipment. Bunting is headquartered in Newton Kansas and also has branches in the United Kingdom including Bunting-Elk Grove Village; Bunting-DuBois; Bunting-Berkhamsted and Bunting-Redditch, Ningbo and China.
The Bunting Company was founded in 1959 by Walter F. Bunting in Chicago. Since then, the company has remained family owned. In 1993, under Bob’s leadership, it underwent an ambitious international expansion, tripling sales during the 29 years he was at the helm (1993-2012). In 2013, his son Robert took office with a family legacy that he seeks to continue.
Robert Bunting also joined Bunting’s Elk Grove Village magnet sales team in 2007. Prior to joining Bunting, he earned a degree in business administration from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, USA and gained valuable experience during two years as an Inside Sales Coordinator at Sun Life Financial.
Robert had been in inside sales until one day, he was transferred to outside sales. He focused on materials handling, metals and magnetism. His management led to sales in that area increasing 25% and by 2014, he became the Global Product Manager for Metal Detection.
Bunting joined Bunting’s Elk Grove Village magnet sales team in 2007. Prior to joining Bunting, he earned a degree in business administration from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri, USA and gained valuable experience during two years as an Inside Sales Coordinator at Sun Life Financial.

In addition, Robert has a reputation as one of the most respected members of the business society, having served on the business intelligence committee of PMMI (The Association for Packaging and Processing). He is currently the Marketing Director at PEMA, and when he has free time he does Ironman triathlon competitions.
