For about 20 years, Heineken has been upgrading the canning capacity at its Kuala Lumpur facility with Krones equipment. Malaysia is the largest market where the brand is produced and exported.
Specifically, Carlsberg Malaysia Group places three filling lines for its beer corresponding to three different styles: beer for regular consumption; non-food ambient temperature and a line for returnables. In Southwest Asia, Carlsberg is a company with great strengths to be included. The Carlsberg Malaysia Group operates a central workshop in Malaysia and owns shares in the factory in Sri Lanka and has an established presence in Singapore.
They excelled in the Asian outbound markets and some products are originally made in-house. As if to have greater control over exports, the Carlsberg Malaysia Group produced its own products and international premium beers, while exporting to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong or Cambodia.
The company is currently upgrading its glass-filling capacity and is about to make its biggest investment in 30 years, with the installation of a new line to be operated by Krones. The new line is sized to fill all types of returnable and non-returnable containers.
