Last year, American Independent Can announced that its Vandalia, Ohio facility scored a 99 out of 100%. This time, on November 4, the Maryland facility also achieved a score of 99% certified by the U.S. Food Safety and Quality Institute.

The audit was carried out on 3 and 4 November. Rosedale received a score of 99 out of 100. The only finding was related to its internal audit process. Once this audit finding is closed, Rosedale will be the second ICC facility (Belcamp being the first) certified to the new SQF standard.

SQFI stands for Safe Quality Food Institute. It is a national food safety and certification organization. The audit reviews whether or not a company meets the strict standards for food contact packaging. It also keeps track of the proper documentation for all your processes and products. All facilities that package food contact products undergo these rigorous audits annually in the US.
