ADF&PCD and PLD Paris are fast approaching. The first event of the year for the beauty, luxury, beverage and aerosol packaging industry will be held in three months’ time, on 19-20 January 2022, at the Porte de Versailles in Paris. This year some 650 international exhibitors are expected to attend, and the show will feature a number of highlights that will shed light on current and future trends.

Christelle Anya, Director of Community and Content for ADF&PCD and PLD Paris, and Josh Brooks, Director of Events for ADF&PCD and PLD Paris 2022, discuss this key event for suppliers and brands.

Why and how have ADF&PCD and PLD Paris become the reference show for packaging professionals?

Josh Brook: ADF&PCD and PLD Paris offers an absolute focus on innovation and provides a vision of the future of packaging for all. Aimed at the niche markets of beauty, aerosols and dispensing, and from 2020, premium beverages, it is the benchmark event for packaging.

The event has a friendly atmosphere, which facilitates connections and networking. It is held in Paris, the world capital of luxury and beauty, so it is close to the brands. Decision-makers in marketing, packaging and purchasing do not miss this event.

What are the main themes of the 2022 edition of ADF&PCD and PLD Paris?

Christelle Anya: These three free events focus on innovations and market trends. The main topics we will address will be oriented towards eco-responsibility. We will highlight material innovation, PCR, alternatives to plastic, sustainable solutions and the advances and challenges around recyclability in the cosmetics industry.

And the highlight?

Christelle Anya: The ADF&PCD and PLD Innovation Awards ceremonies are one of the most anticipated moments. It is a highly respected award, overseen by a prestigious and impartial jury. The awards offer exceptional visibility to the participating companies and are a springboard for many of them. This year will also be the first PLD Innovation Awards to be held in person.

Then, of course, there are the other inspiring aspects that make ADF&PCD and PLD Paris such a success: the conferences and round tables with top industry experts, the prestigious Pentawards gallery, the networking events and the guided tours.

What will be new in this 2022 edition?

Josh Brook: We are strengthening the innovation aspect with a new gallery dedicated to the Awards and key trends for the coming year, as well as showcasing student projects. What also sets the 2022 edition apart is that it goes beyond the time frame of the exhibition and relies on online events.
