It is the first glossary of terms on aluminium recycling to be published in Spain. The proposal called ‘Glossary of terms related to the collection, selection and recycling of aluminium’ has been jointly developed by the Association for the Recycling of Aluminium Products (ARPAL) and the Association of Environmental Information Journalists (APIA).

The document, which includes 56 terms also translated into English, French and German, is intended to be a working tool for professionals who report on the recycling process of this material and for people working in the recovery and recycling sector.

This dossier has been elaborated precisely because of the difficulty of journalists, informers, educators and professionals dedicated to recovery and recycling to find quick, accessible and contrasted information to consult when reporting on the aluminium recycling chain, both in Spanish and in other languages, as it is a very specific terminology and sometimes, not very well known.

The content of this glossary has been elaborated by APIA professionals who, after an exhaustive research work, have agreed, together with the collaboration of ARPAL experts, the best possible definitions so that the different terms are clear and precise. In fact, more than 75% of the aluminium manufactured for over 100 years is still in use thanks to recycling.
