BALL TO INVEST 60 MILLION IN ARGENTINA FOR THE CANNED ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE BOOM

The multinational Ball Corporation seeks to expand its production in Argentina especially due to the significant increase in consumption of wine, beer and even cider in cans of Argentine consumers. The American company has announced an investment of 60 million and the creation of new jobs in its production plant in the industrial park of Burzaco, in the Buenos Aires district of Almirante Brown.

This is the second disbursement made by the American company. Since 2017 Ball invested $70 million with the goal of tripling its plant capacity. The cash injection was made in four stages culminating in September 2019.

The packaging company presented its 2021-22 investment plan to expand the installation of a new production line, which will allow them to increase their production capacity by 643 million cans, representing a 30 percent increase, while 46 new jobs will be created.

“Argentina has been a long-time partner of the aluminum can industry and it is an honor to see how we have been expanding our presence in the region with the most sustainable package for the beverage market, the aluminum can,” says Carlos Pires, Ball’s president for South America.

The company provides aluminum packaging solutions to customers in beverage, personal care and household products, as well as aerospace and other technologies and services. Its subsidiaries employ 21,500 people worldwide and, in South America, the company has 15 factories in Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Paraguay.
