Sun Chemical, X-Rite Incorporated and Pantone LLC announce new Monobloc color libraries in the PantoneLIVE™ digital color ecosystem. These libraries facilitate accurate communication of Pantone standards in monobloc can production, helping brands and metal packaging manufacturers set realistic expectations in design, proofing and printing for matte or gloss varnishes on monobloc aerosols, collapsible aluminum tubes, cartridges and marker pen cases.
The monoblock libraries offer the best possible representation of Pantone colors for the production of extruded aluminum aerosol cans. The libraries were developed by capturing the closest possible match to the Pantone Matching System core colors, using ink applied with gloss or matte varnish on monobloc cans, bottles or containers. Leading consumer brands, packaging converters and can manufacturers can rely on PantoneLIVE to select color standards achievable in production.
“Providing Pantone-approved colors in a monobloc can is a breakthrough for brands and manufacturers,” Eduardo Alegria, Sun Chemical representative, commented. “It simplifies the color approval process and eliminates guesswork, delays with ink application and rework on new design productions. This creates a more sustainable and cost-effective process.”
PantoneLIVE integrates with X-Rite solutions, including ColorCert, Color iQC quality control software, Autura Ink Software, the Ci64 handheld color measurement device and the NetProfiler performance platform, for a truly connected digital color workflow. An end-to-end color management workflow helps brands, packaging printers and manufacturers streamline color transmission, improving efficiency in design and printing.
“Can manufacturing is a complex process and the curved, reflective shape of aluminum containers makes producing accurate and consistent color a challenge,” said Cindy Cooperman, VP of Global Brand Sales at X-Rite. The monoblock libraries in PantoneLIVE, combined with X-Rite’s Ci64 spectrophotometer and formulation and quality control software make it easy to select, measure and produce consistent colors to maintain brand integrity.”
