Wold Top Brewery has decided to invest in a new canning line at the request of its customers. This brewery is located in East Yorkshire. The beer company announced its arrival in the can market with its new product, Wild Swim lager.

In addition, Wild Swim is one of six beers that will be released canned in 2024 as part of a limited run. This beer has an alcohol content of 4%, is a lager created by brewer Henry Culpepper, and is characterized by its light, clean and refreshing taste.

Brewery director Alex Balchin said, “Our contract customers have been asking us to provide a canned beer packaging service for quite some time, but we had to weigh all options before investing.

“We have a strong and loyal fan base of bottle drinkers and wanted to make sure we didn’t marginalize any other areas of the business. By introducing cans as a limited-edition seasonal line, our goal is to develop strong markets for both forms of packaging,” he added.

UK-based MicroCan provided a canning line capable of filling 2,000 cans per hour. This investment of £100,000 was supported by the Agricultural Sustainability Fund, which supports businesses in the rural and agricultural sector. Leeds-based brand design firm Carrot Juice Creative was commissioned to create the eye-catching can designs.
