Wildpack Beverage has just announced the C$42 million purchase of Murray Corporation, a high-volume aluminum can brokerage company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Thomas Walker, Wildpack’s Chief Growth Officer noted after the acquisition that “the addition of Land and Sea to the Wildpack team creates great immediate synergies while setting the stage for a new avenue for long-term growth. Land and Sea is best-in-class in packaging sales, brokering and supply chain optimization. We have a comprehensive integration strategy in place to ensure that Wildpack absorbs the impressive learnings from Land and Sea while offering them the support of our nationwide filling and decorating services.”

Walker further notes that “their company culture is a perfect fit with Wildpack and we look forward to seeing some exciting developments from their team. Adding another successful and much larger acquisition to our credit has demonstrated that our team and negotiation process continues to prove itself capable of execution and constant improvement. We are confident that future acquisitions will continue smoothly.

Tim Murray, Operations Director at Land and Sea Packaging, adds, “Kim and I are very excited to be joining the Wildpack team. Our long term plan was to expand our business to a second location. This transaction allows us to be part of an organization with 6 locations and a broader offering that includes decorating and can filling with plans to expand to 12 locations by 2022.”

He adds that “the two businesses are complementary with our focus on containers and boxes and Wildpack’s expertise in decoration, packaging and operations. For us, an important part of the transaction was the cultural fit. Wildpack’s people-first culture is what convinced us that this was the right move for us and our dedicated team.”
