The company explains that, although aluminum represents an advance over plastic, there is still no perfect solution for all its products. “The message is clear: not only must the content be sustainable, but also its packaging,” Weleda points out.

Protecting the properties of Skin Food is not an easy task. The brand forgoes synthetic preservatives and mainly uses natural ingredients, such as pure vegetable oils and essential oils, which are highly sensitive to oxygen. Therefore, the packaging plays a key role: it prevents the oils from becoming rancid and the fragrances from evaporating, preserving the sensory experience of the cream.
