Virgin Atlantic Airlines has decided to offer vodka in aluminum bottles after reaching an agreement with the Sapling Spirits brand.
The company will offer vodka in 5 ml aluminum bottles on board all its flights, regardless of the passenger’s class. This initiative not only provides options for all travelers, but will also help reduce their environmental impact by reducing the use of plastic and glass waste. Virgin Atlantic has also set itself the goal of planting more than 20,000 trees in partnership with an association.

On the other hand, Shiada Drysdale, who heads the beverage department at Virgin Atlantic, expressed her delight at the news of partnering once again with Sapling. On this occasion, its award-winning Climate Positive vodka will be offered to economy and premium class customers. The new aluminum presentation is a breakthrough in terms of sustainability and the company is excited to implement this innovation in its fleet.

Also according to Ivo Devereux, who is one of the founders of Sapling Spirits, this brand is going through a very exciting time. After working for more than a year on the new packaging innovation for Virgin, finally seeing it in use will be a great achievement for them. At Sapling, they are constantly looking for new ways to promote sustainability in the beverage industry.

“It was our company that was the first to implement an environmentally friendly refill system using 5-liter containers in the market and we are excited to team up with Virgin for this innovative new idea. Every time someone drinks our vodka, they join us in the mission to plant thousands of trees and also contribute to reducing glass and plastic consumption.” concluded.
