Unimed Londrina launches a new campaign for donating aluminum rings

Unimed Londrina launched a charity event known as “I help in the can”, which during this, its eleventh edition, seeks to raise money through the purchase of aluminum seals to help people with reduced mobility problems. The final benefit will be used to buy wheelchairs for the most vulnerable people.

The objective of this initiative is to collect the seals, which are equivalent to approximately 170 filled PET bottles. Over the years, 14,205 kg of stamps have been donated, allowing the purchase of 74 chairs to be given to 50 institutions and benefiting hundreds of people.

Isabela Moreno, sustainability assistant at Unimed Londrina pointed out that “the work is great, but when it is shared with our community, the action becomes very feasible. That’s why we have everyone’s cooperation”.

Starting in August, there will be an online vote to define the number of seats allocated to each participating institution. Anyone can contribute to the campaign by handing in the seals of the aluminum cans at one of the service points of unimed Londrina.
