Unilever has announced the suspension of all imports and exports of its products in Russia. It has also halted all business operations in Ukraine following the invasion of Russian troops on Ukrainian territory.

“Our business operations in Ukraine have been halted and we are now fully focused on ensuring the safety of our Ukrainian employees and their families, including assisting with their evacuation when necessary and providing financial support,” says company CEO Alan Jope who adds that “we join in the calls for an end to this war and hope that peace, human rights and the international rule of law will prevail.”

The consumer goods giant will no longer invest capital in Russia or benefit from its presence in the country, CEO Alan Jope announced. Unilever will continue to supply its essential food and daily hygiene products made in Russia to the people of the country. It will also donate €5 million worth of Unilever essentials to the humanitarian relief effort for Ukrainian refugees.
