The multinational consumer goods company Unilever has announced the construction of a new aerosol deodorant factory in Nyírbátor, in eastern Hungary, with the aim of increasing its production capacity for Eastern European markets.
The planned investment amounts to approximately 30 billion Hungarian forints (about 76 million euros) and the plant will occupy an area of 10,000 m². It is estimated that, once operational, the factory will be able to produce up to 150 million aerosols per year, strengthening Unilever’s presence in the region and expanding its industrial network in Hungary, where it already has other facilities.
This will be Unilever’s fourth largest aerosol production plant globally and is part of the company’s strategy to centralize part of its production in key centers to optimize logistics and supply to strategic markets. The new facility will respond to the growing demand for deodorants in Eastern Europe and maintain the company’s competitiveness in the region.
The project confirms Unilever’s commitment to expanding its industrial capacity in Europe and underscores the importance of Nyírbátor as a production hub within its global aerosol manufacturing network. The company has not yet announced the exact start date of operations or the number of jobs that will be generated with the new plant.
