Thanks to the joint work of MK Food Bank and the community at large, a new Guinness World Record was set in Milton Keynes, UK, by creating the longest line of food cans to date.
The world record was held in the city’s Campbell Park, with the participation of approximately 100 businesses, 20 schools, 30 churches and religious groups, 50 community organizations and 25 charities in Milton Keynes.
In collaboration, people worked together to collect, count and pack thousands of cans of food in a row. In addition, another 11,000 cans were purchased by the general public to increase the amount of supplies for the MK Food Bank.
A total of 102,447 cans were placed in an initiative of MK Food Bank, who assured that these would be of great help to “make it through the winter”.
The previous record mark for the largest number of food cans in a continuous line was set in 2014, with a total of 44,966 cans, covering a distance of 3.28 km. All the cans were donated for social purposes in order to raise funds and assist the neediest people.
