The member companies of the European Association of Tube and Pipe Manufacturers, Etma, met in Seville, Spain, in early October for this year’s annual conference. The winners of the association’s Tube of the Year 2021 competition were chosen in five categories: Aluminium Tubes, Laminated Tubes, Plastic Tubes, Sustainability and Prototypes.
For the third time in a row, Tubex Aluminium Tubes has won the Etma Tube of the Year Award in the aluminium tubes category. It features a smart aluminium snap closure instead of a conventional plastic lid and combines all the key features for sustainable packaging: it is made from a single material, reduces the use of plastics, is easy to recycle and closes the cycle. with post-consumer recycled aluminium packaging.
Gregor Spengler, Secretary General of Etma, highlighted the high level of participation in the competition, adding that “it clearly demonstrates that our Tube of the Year competition is of a high standard in the industry and is considered a recognised indicator of the performance of Europeans in the tube industry”.
The association also highlights the participation as well as the sustainable concepts that have characterized the main proposals of the different candidates for the Tube of the year 2021.
