Tubex, among the first 50 packaging companies worldwide to achieve SBTIs
TUBEX Aluminum Tubes announced that it has achieved its Science Based Targets (SBTi) approved near-term emissions reduction targets, an important milestone in the company’s sustainability roadmap.
TUBEX Aluminum Tubes, internationally recognized as the best manufacturer of aluminum tubes, recently revealed that Science Based Targets (SBTi) has evaluated and approved its goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in its company.
TUBEX Aluminum Tube’s goal is that “our activities do not contribute much to climate change, therefore they are very committed to the Paris Agreement criteria to limit global warming to 1.5°C. This response fits into scope 1, 2 and 3 of their own emissions and those of their supply chain.”
TUBEX Aluminium Tubes* has committed to reduce its global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions related to Scope 1 and 2 activities by at least 42% by 2030, using 2020 as the base year. In addition, it aims to achieve a similar reduction in its scope 3 emissions for the same period.
The SBTi ranked our company’s scope 1 and 2 target ambition and has determined that it is in line with a 1.5°C trajectory. This is currently the most ambitious designation available through the SBTi process.
The group, a leading aluminum pipe manufacturing company worldwide, recently received official approval from SBTi (Science Based Targets Initiative) in its commitment to reduce GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions. This means that all your stakeholders will now be more informed about your goals and will be accountable for the terms used to describe those goals. Group CEO Thierry Bitout proudly pointed out that his company is the first in the international arena with this valuable validation.Considering the great importance of sustainability, which has motivated us to publish our progress, we are exploring new ideas to reach the final goals by 2050 and achieve a zero footprint venture.
In the 2022 fiscal year, the TUBEX group announced its new climate strategy with a view to reducing its emissions and achieving the 2030 environmental targets. It consists of three main components: eco-design, a fixed direction towards 1.5°C and industrial circularity. The implementation of these plans will require a period of eight years until 2030.
SBTi is a global initiative that works with industry to accelerate progress towards carbon neutrality. This organization seeks to achieve the climate goals set out in the Paris Agreement through engagement and awareness of climate change among members, as well as through a range of projects.
The Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) is a project that has been initiated to help companies develop sustainable science targets. This initiative is supported by several organizations, including the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). SBTi provides the necessary tools to simplify the adoption of these objectives, while offering an independent assessment of the steps taken.
