In recent years it has become increasingly common for the craft beer industry to finally opt for aluminum cans after years of experimenting with other packaging formats. Its sustainability and enormous can decoration potential has been a revolution for brewers looking to add much-needed shelf appeal and added value.
In the case of Polish brewery, Trzech Kumpli, they have seen the Polish craft beer market mature and sustainability agendas come to the forefront. As a result, the company has decided to partner with CANPACK to help create and distribute eye-catching printed cans to craft beer enthusiasts in Poland.
It is one of the first to introduce printed cans in the market. Trzech Kumpli enjoys the benefits of CANPACK’s market-leading innovations, with unique lithography for five of its flagship beers. By using CANPACK’s MATT effect, the uniqueness of the series is highlighted, making the packaging soft to the touch, elegant to the eye and, above all, emphasizing the real quality of the beer.
Stephen McAneny, commercial director of CANPACK, notes, “The ability to decorate cans in small batches has become a central focus for the craft beer industry. We are delighted to have been able to provide truly sustainable packaging with printed lithography for a series of Trzech Kumpli craft beers and to be part of this success story.”
For his part, Piotr Sosin, owner of Trzech Kumpli, was equally enthusiastic about engaging with CANPACK to help create its cans. “The desire to pour beer in decorated cans was born a long time ago. From the beginning, we wanted our beer to be in printed cans, but to meet minimum logistical orders, we simply had to scale our production until now. Our customers appreciate the craftsmanship of the graphic design, the workmanship itself and, of course, the beer itself,” he concludes.
For many craft brewers, making the transition to printed aluminum cans presents a hurdle as many can makers require minimum order volumes beyond the reach of many smaller companies. For Trzech Kumpli there has been no such problem. The company has been able to take advantage of CANPACK’s ongoing partnership with Marxam Project, a distributor of raw materials and equipment for wine and beer producers. This alliance has allowed brewers to market their product in printed cans without worrying about meeting minimum requirements.
