Multinational Trivium Packaging, a $2.7 billion global supplier of sustainable metal packaging, has announced that two of its innovative packaging solutions have won prestigious WorldStar 2022 Global Packaging Awards presented annually by the World Packaging Organization (WPO).
These WorldStar awards are recognized for its relevant worldwide packaging awards program. Organized since 1970, the WPO WorldStar 2022 Global Packaging Awards this year evaluated 440 submissions from 37 different countries.
On this occasion, the company was recognized in two categories, one of them, the ‘Peel off End’ in the labeling and decoration category, of QR Code in the WorldStar 2022 Global Packaging Awards competition as well as the ‘Bubble Tree’ rechargeable bubble system in the toys category.
The first of the award-winning systems, the Bubble Tree is an environmentally friendly bubble system that eliminates single-use plastics by using refillable aluminum bottles and a corrugated cardboard refill system. The bottles are 100% infinitely recyclable, non-slip and easy to hold with an ergonomic grip. Designed to minimize spills and maximize portability, a wand is integrated into the lid.
The second of Trivium Packaging’s accolades, the ‘Peel off End’ with QR code label focuses on an anti-counterfeiting solution for an infant nutrition market. The peel-off end is equipped with a unique serialized QR code that ensures that the product can be fully traced back to the product, production location and even the production batch. This project was developed for infant milk formulas, but can be applied to any product and any market.
Georg Kasperkovitz, president of Trivium’s European division, explains that “Trivium Packaging’s peel-off ends are an important innovation in the children’s market that can be applied to other markets, providing transparency, authenticity and safety to the end consumer”.
On the other hand, Trivium’s growth director Rob Huffman adds that “we are delighted to highlight Bubble Tree’s infinitely recyclable and refillable aluminum bottle system with this award, a great example of 100% recyclable and refillable packaging that is both outstanding and sustainable.”
Finally, Bubble Tree founder and CEO Geoffrey Wasserman reiterates that it is an honor to be recognized by the WordSta Awards. “Our refillable, ergonomic aluminum bottles were intentionally designed, keeping the consumer experience at the forefront, reduce plastic waste and offer a fully recyclable, durable and attractive container that can be infinitely reused.”
