TRIVIUM Packaging Ibérica S.A., which has been manufacturing metal packaging since 1970, has become one of the most important and successful companies in the metallurgical sector and one of the world leaders in the sector. Now it is taking a step forward in its commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation with the installation of solar panels at its plant located in Meis (Pontevedra).

Specifically, TRIVIUM Packaging Ibérica has partnered with EiDF Solar for the project. The company offers you a comprehensive service for the photovoltaic installation that will increase your energy savings and reduce your carbon footprint by eliminating 4,468 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to the planting of 17,8733 planted trees.

This project has a capacity of 999 kWp, which produces 1,182,152 kWh. This saving will represent 17% of the energy consumption required during this project, and to achieve this, there are 2230 solar panels that will be located on the roof. This is the first contract formalized jointly for the construction of the self-consumption facility, in addition to other commitments that are being planned in the coming months.

David Valdés, Plant Manager, pointed out that “for TRIVIUM Packaging Pontevedra, this project is a crucial milestone in the path we have set ourselves to achieve our sustainability and energy efficiency objectives, in line with the priorities established by the group’s parent company. We are very excited to be the first plant in our business unit to take such a visible step in this direction.”

Finally, TRIVIUM Packaging Iberica is an international company with a presence in 60 countries. Its metal packaging is developed by a team of scientists who work to define the most suitable characteristics for each customer, taking into account sustainable solutions and performing rigorous testing of materials and coatings. In doing so, they have achieved innovations in the shape and opening of packaging, and created a circular economy with their high recycling rate.
