The multinational company Trivium will allocate an investment of close to US$40 million to facilities in the USA and Brazil with the ambitious goal of expanding production of aluminum aerosol cans and beverage bottles.

The leading company is responding to the increasing demand for sustainable metal packaging in the rapidly growing aerosol and beverage market. In addition, global metal packaging leader Trivium Packaging will invest in new assets at two of its manufacturing plants to substantially expand production of aluminum impact extruded cans and bottles.

In the case of the USA, the multinational will install new lines at the Youngstown, Ohio plants, while in the case of Itupeva, Brazil, new capacity will be added, significantly increasing capacity in 2023. Jens Irion, Trivium’s U.S. president highlights that “this $40 million production expansion at our Youngstown and Itupeva facilities will help us and our customers meet the growing demand in the aerosol and beverage market for infinitely recyclable cans and bottles,” while Ryan Noward, Trivium’s vice president and head of Global Beverage adds that “today’s consumer is more environmentally conscious than ever before.”

Trivium’s Intupeva and Youngstown facilities are two of three Trivium facilities in the Americas that produce aerosol cans and aluminum bottles. The company also produces beverage containers and aerosols in Europe, and recently invested to expand its offering specifically in the beverage market.
