JAPANESE GROUP TOYO SEIKAN JOINS THE ELLEN MACARTHUR FOUNDATION
The Toyo Seikan Group has announced that it is joining the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. TSG is the fourth Japanese company and the first Japanese packaging manufacturer to become a member of the English Foundation Network that develops and promotes the idea of a circular economy.
Toyo Seikan President Ichio Otsuka says it has joined the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in the UK, with the aim of gaining knowledge about the circular economy and collaborating with other member companies.
Through the workshops organized by the aforementioned foundation and participation in collaborative projects with other companies in the Network, TSG will contribute to the transition to the circular economy by offering a wide range of packaging according to the situation of each country or region as the manufacturing system of environmentally friendly cans and with a smaller footprint, “leveraging our strength as a comprehensive manufacturer of packaging that works with various materials such as metal, plastic, paper and glass” have added from the Japanese multinational.
The Foundation is a charity set up in 2010 to accelerate the transition to a circular economy on a global scale, working with business, academia, policy makers and institutions.
