The promotional campaign “Red Gold from Europe” will participate in the Hospitality Qatar 2025 fair, which will be held from October 28 to 30 at the Doha Exhibition Centre (DECC), with the aim of highlighting the quality, safety, and versatility of Italian and EU canned tomatoes.

Organized by ANICAV, the Italian Association of Canned Vegetable Industries, and co-financed by the European Commission, the initiative highlights the cultural heritage and strict safety standards that support European canned products.

During the fair, visitors will be able to participate in live cooking sessions, which will showcase creative ways to incorporate these tomatoes into dishes ranging from traditional Italian recipes to an Alexandria-style squid stew.

According to Marco Serafini, president of ANICAV, the canned tomato market in Qatar is expected to grow steadily until 2028, driven by consumer demand, urbanization, and the expansion of the food service sector.

Serafini indicated that imports of canned tomatoes from Italy and the EU could increase between 3 and 5%, reflecting regional trends and the preference for well-established, high-quality European brands.

Italy is currently the largest supplier of canned tomatoes to Qatar, and the campaign seeks to highlight the excellence and safety thereof.
