The Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) of Peru has delivered nearly two million cans of canned goods as part of the A Comer Pescado program, ensuring that thousands of families throughout the country have access to nutritious foods with high protein value.
Sergio González Guerrero, head of PRODUCE, indicated that in 2025 the program has carried out around 8,000 promotional activities in 26 regions, 135 provinces and 513 districts, covering coastal, mountain and jungle areas, as well as urban and rural communities.
“These actions have made it possible to promote more than 2,000 tons of hydrobiological products and, especially, to distribute cans of canned goods, strengthening marketing with small producers and boosting the local economy,” said González Guerrero.
