75% of consumers in France, Italy, Spain and the UK confirm this in a survey conducted by IPOS for research by Metal Packaging Europe (MPE), the European association for the rigid packaging industry, to assess consumer perception of the Metal Recycles Forever beverage can and logo in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.
90% of respondents said they were confident that packaging displaying the Metal Recycles Forever (MRF) logo would actually be recycled, while 80% said it gave them a perception of being easy to recycle and 60% said it was a packaging that could be recycled more than once.
“The IPSOS survey shows that over 40% of consumers already buy one or more cans of drink each week and, as the MRF logo becomes more widely recognised, it will play a vital role, ensuring we capture even more resources in the drive to achieve a truly circular economy.”
