The United Nations warns that if we do not practice responsible consumption, by 2050 there will be more plastics than fish in our oceans. To partially reverse this serious environmental problem, hundreds of companies are working to find a solution, as is the case with the Spanish company Dropson. With more than 15 years of experience in the new generation water treatment sector, it has been working for years on the development of an innovative system capable of filtering quality water directly from the tap: the filtering can.
The Dropson filter is capable of filtering up to 300 liters of water directly from the tap, faster than other filters because it is a system that does not require installation and has a direct filtration rate of 1 to 1.5 liters per minute, efficient, economical and environmentally friendly. The can respects the natural minerals such as calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate in the water as these are important and beneficial to health, resulting in a more balanced water.
For a good performance of the filter, it is important that the flow rate is correct. For this, it should be between 1 to 1.5 liters per minute. To check it, it is recommended to hold the can with one hand and with the other, open the tap a little, slowly. We should fill a large 200cl glass between 5 and 8 seconds or a 1l jug between 60 and 90 seconds.
Its duration will depend on water quality and consumption. To ensure optimum performance of the filter, it should be replaced after 3 months from the first time the water passes through the filter. It also has an app with a time indicator that allows calculating the estimated limit of the filter capacity, warning when it is about to be changed.
Dropson also collaborates with the European Environment Association (AAE) through its Healthy Sea project, with the common goal of raising awareness and seeking solutions to the disturbing problem of marine litter.
