The Official State Gazette (BOE) of August 29, 2025, has published the Resolution of August 19, 2025, from the General Directorate of Labor, which registers and disseminates the collective agreement for the metalgraphic and metal packaging manufacturing industry for the period 2024-2027. The agreement introduces an accumulated salary revaluation of 21.51%, along with measures for equality, work-life balance, and social protection that will benefit workers in the sector.
The salary increase will be applied progressively: 3% in 2024 and another 3% in 2025 (both with retroactive effect), 3.5% in 2026, and an additional 3% in 2027. Arrears generated since January 2024 must be paid before June 30, 2025.
In addition to the salary update, the agreement reinforces protection in case of temporary disability (IT), regulates the working day at 1,752 hours per year, extends the irregular distribution from 120 to 140 hours, and updates the compensation for teleworking, which will grow in parallel with the salary tables.
Regarding work-life balance, paid licenses are extended, such as the leave for accompanying children, which increases from 12 to 16 years, and the use of the 16 hours for medical visits is made more flexible. Coverage of permits in hospitalization situations is also extended, and the regulations on leaves of absence, trial periods, and collective bargaining are adapted.
The agreement creates a professional classification commission to adapt categories and functions to the evolution of profiles and streamlines the procedures of the joint commission.
Finally, it incorporates a specific protocol against discrimination and in favor of the equality of LGTBI people, placing the sector at the forefront of inclusive policies in the industry.
The labor framework affects workers and companies linked to metalgraphic activities, packaging, aerosol tubes, caps, closures, capsules, and other metal seals, as well as the decoration, varnishing, and stamping of sheets, with CNAE-25: 18.13, 25.40, 25.51, 25.52, 25.53, and 25.92.
