Thai Union Group PCL has donated 40,000 cans of fish from its SEALECT brand to support those affected by the earthquake in Myanmar.
The Military Civil Affairs Department of the Royal Thai Army will be responsible for coordinating the distribution of food among the affected population. The handover ceremony took place recently at the Royal Thai Army headquarters.
The 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred on March 28 and left an estimated 3,706 dead and more than 5,000 injured. The quake was also felt in neighboring countries such as Thailand, prompting a rapid regional humanitarian response.
