Sri Lankan food processing company Tess Agro announced the opening of a can manufacturing plant at its factory located in Kelaniya. Tess Agro Plc inaugurated its can production plant called ‘Agro Tin Tech’, located at the factory on New Nuge Road, Kelaniya. The company’s daily production capacity is 80,000 cans.

To carry out this project, an initial investment of approximately 79.2 million rupees was earmarked for the purchase of machinery and equipment. This investment is aimed at satisfying the growing demand in both the local and export markets.

The can is one of the most widely used options for packaging different products, such as fish, soft drinks, soups, spices, cosmetics and medicines. Its popularity cannot be denied due to its effectiveness and versatility in different markets. “The high demand for this product locally and internationally provides a basis for great prospects of success for this project,” they said.

Sri Lanka-based Tess Agro is looking for Swiss investors to finance the production of cans. The company is engaged in the manufacture and distribution of agricultural products and believes that this partnership with a Swiss company will enable them to expand their reach and improve their production processes.
On the other hand, TESS is a company that encompasses different business areas, such as engineering, seafood exports, deep sea fishing, medical equipment and services, as well as the export of agricultural products from Sri Lanka.
