In an unprecedented move, four top teams in the sports world-Arsenal, Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche-have teamed up to introduce the “Green Action League,” marking the beginning of the largest fan-focused sustainability initiative in sports history.
This innovative league invites fans of European soccer, American soccer, basketball and ice hockey to unite behind their teams in a quest to claim the title of ‘greenest fans’.
From November 11 through December 1, 2024, the Green Action League seeks to inspire sports enthusiasts around the world to adopt eco-friendly practices. Through the Planet League platform, participants can accumulate ‘green points’ by engaging in sustainable actions.
“This initiative illustrates how simple, everyday actions can culminate in significant environmental benefits,” stated Tom Gribbin, Planet League Founder. “It doesn’t require fans to make drastic lifestyle changes; even small acts like recycling cans, opting for meatless meals or participating in local cleanups can earn points and lead their team to sustainability success. We’re proud to partner with these top-tier sports clubs to demonstrate that we can tackle climate change in a fun and engaging way.”

Fans can register on their respective team websites, earning points through eco-friendly actions such as recycling aluminum cans, adopting plant-based diets and participating in community clean-up efforts. Each action contributes points, with the best ones earning exclusive prizes, including game tickets, opportunities to meet players and signed merchandise.
