Sun Chemical will increase prices for a wide range of its inks in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective immediately.
The supply chains for color and white pigments have been severely affected by a number of challenges in recent months, including disruptions, shortages, insolvency, anti-dumping import duties, as well as additional increases in ocean freight rates from Asia.
These factors have driven the cost of Sun Chemical’s ink products in both color and white inks.
“Pressure along the supply chain is causing a significant increase in the costs of raw materials for inks and, unfortunately, forcing us to increase prices,” said Mehran Yazdani, president of Global Packaging and Advanced Materials at Sun Chemical.
As a leading ink supplier, Sun Chemical is working hard to mitigate rising costs by implementing internal improvement programs and maintaining very close communication with its suppliers and industry associations to ensure it is fully aligned with the current sourcing situation.
Sun Chemical will communicate specific increases directly to its customers.
