Sun Chemical has received a silver rating for its sustainability performance from EcoVadis, the world’s largest provider of sustainability ratings. This achievement places the company within the top 15% of companies in its sector.
The EcoVadis assessment covers four key areas: environment, responsible purchasing, ethics, and labor and human rights. The results obtained reflect the strength of Sun Chemical’s sustainability strategy and the measurable progress towards its ESG (environmental, social, and governance) goals.
“At Sun Chemical, sustainability is not just an obligation, but also an engine of innovation,” said Mike Simoni, the company’s global sustainability director. “This recognition from EcoVadis confirms our commitment to integrating sustainability into every aspect of our operations, from product development to international partnerships.”
The silver distinction supports Sun Chemical’s sustainability roadmap, which includes ambitious goals in carbon emission reduction, promotion of the circular economy, and transparent communication with stakeholders. This strategy is structured around three pillars: sustainable operations, collaboration on sustainability initiatives, and development of responsible products and services.
Based on its own “5R” framework—Reuse, Reduce, Renew, Recycle, and Redesign—the company addresses both the direct environmental impacts and those of its value chain. Thanks to this methodology, it has managed to reduce its carbon footprint, preserve virgin resources, and reduce waste generation, consolidating itself as a benchmark in sustainable practices within the inks, pigments, coatings, and adhesives sectors.
