Sun Chemical Company has increased prices on selected parts of its portfolio of pigments, dyes and preparations, effective February 14, 2022 or as per contracts. Price increases have affected all market segments.
Continued inflationary pressure and new price spikes in key raw materials continue to drive cost increases. In addition, the strong impact of the global transportation crisis and inflation on the different components of the manufacturing process are worsening the situation.
“We have had to take this step due to current market conditions,” maintains Stefan Sütterlin, president of Sun Chemical’s color materials division.
In this regard, Sütterlin adds, “Sun Chemical values the relationship we have with our business partners, and we remain committed to ongoing cost and productivity improvement programs designed to keep our cost drivers under control and deliver maximum value to our customers. However, the unprecedented magnitude and speed of material increases are forcing us to pass on higher costs to our customers.”
