Sun Chemical Company has announced that it will increase prices across its portfolio of inks, coatings, consumables and adhesives for packaging, sheetfed commercials and screen printing in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, effective June 2022 or as contracts allow.
Precisely, the industry is also being affected by the current situation in Europe and China, which is significantly increasing pressure on supply and demand dynamics, as well as on utility and freight costs. However, the company says it continues to find ways to mitigate these costs, but the magnitude and speed of cost increases require the company to further increase prices.
“Sun Chemical’s priority has been to continue to supply our customers with our products, enabling them to keep their facilities up and running. We continue to leverage our global network to secure raw materials and services,” says Mehran Yazdani, president of Global Packaging and Advanced Materials.
“However, competition for these resources is significant and the magnitude of inflationary pressures cannot be fully overcome through efficiency programs. This requires us to further increase prices to our customers so that we can continue to secure the inputs necessary to manufacture and deliver quality products. With no signs of stabilization so far, the situation will have to be adjusted as we go along, and therefore pricing cannot be guaranteed for any period.”
