The American giant STARBUCKS has decided to go for energy drinks in cans and has launched a new energy drink under the trade name of Baya Energy.
The new product, which has been developed through the North American Coffee Partnership (NACP), a joint venture between Starbucks and PepsiCo to create RTD coffee and energy products, features caffeine as the main ingredient, as well as vitamin C, giving consumers an extra energy boost. Since its launch in 1971, the company has experimented with multiple products and its latest commercial effort is in the energy drink business.
Chanda Beppu, vice president of Channel Development Americas at Starbucks notes that “we are thrilled to introduce Starbucks BAYA Energy to our customers, bringing them a refreshing, fruity-flavored boost of feel-good energy in a way that only Starbucks can offer.”
Starbucks BAYA Energy is available in three fruit flavors: mango, guava, raspberry, lime and pineapple, passion fruit and will be marketed in grocery stores, national retailers, convenience stores and gas stations, as well as online where groceries are sold for $2.89. The beverage is scheduled to launch the last week of January 2022 and is expected to go on sale in U.S. Starbucks stores on March 1.
