Spectro Alloys, the leading aluminum recycler in the Midwest, has announced that it will invest $10 million to upgrade its plants. The projects, to be completed in early 2022, will include a new warehouse and a new state-of-the-art facility.

Spectro Alloys will break ground this week on a new 21,000-square-foot building it owns near Highway 55 in Rosemount. This new warehouse will significantly reduce truck traffic in and out of the facility, while streamlining production, shipping and receiving processes for greater safety and efficiency.

Key innovations include the addition of new air pollution control equipment, which will help the company gain even more benefits from the recycling process and move towards its long-term sustainability goals.

The building, to be completed in spring 2022, will be energy sustainable and use process heat to reduce energy consumption. The project will also include trees and native prairie landscaping that is more aesthetically pleasing and will enhance the environment around the facility.
