Sonoco has announced the rebranding of Eviosys, its European metal packaging division, which is now called Sonoco Metal Packaging EMEA. This update marks a new chapter following the acquisition of Eviosys in December 2024, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable packaging.
Thanks to this integration, Sonoco has significantly increased its presence in the EMEA region, which now represents more than 40% of its global sales. The company, already well-established in the United States, positions itself as the world’s largest manufacturer of metal packaging, expanding its network of plants and operational capacity.
The CEO of Sonoco, Howard Coker, highlighted the strategic importance of the change, emphasizing the company’s global vision: “Better Packaging. Better Life”. Meanwhile, Tomás López, head of Sonoco Metal Packaging EMEA, noted that this transformation reflects a clear commitment to leadership in sustainability, maintaining the legacy of Eviosys.
With 45 factories in 17 countries and an annual production of 26 billion units, the company has more than 6,400 employees and has been recognized with the Ecovadis platinum medal for its environmental commitment. Additionally, products such as Horizon, Orbit 66, and Ecopeel have been awarded for their innovation.
