Silgan Containers has announced the closure of its production plant located in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. This decision will impact a total of 56 employees, including operational staff and administrative positions, and is scheduled to begin around July 21, with reduced capacity operations continuing until August or later.

The company will transfer production to other facilities within Wisconsin, specifically to its plants in Menomonee Falls and Kenosha, as well as its technology center in Oconomowoc. Silgan, headquartered in California, has not provided additional statements regarding this measure.

This closure is part of a broader company strategy to adjust its production capacities to the projected demand from its customers during the second half of the year, with the aim of optimizing costs and operational efficiency.

It is worth noting that this action adds to previous closures carried out by Silgan, such as those of the plants in Waupun, Wisconsin, and Mount Vernon, Missouri, in 2019, as part of an ongoing plan to restructure and optimize its operations.

Silgan Containers is a subsidiary of Silgan Holdings Inc., a global provider specializing in rigid packaging solutions for consumer products, with a presence in various locations in Wisconsin and other states in the United States.
