Siderperú, the Peruvian subsidiary of the Brazilian integrated steelmaker Gerdau, will invest US$20 million this year to expand its existing rolling mill capacity.

In a document filed with the SMV, Siderperu informs that this investment will be made in different phases and projects. The investment should add a rolling mill capacity of between 80,000 and 100,000 mt/year.

Siderperú expects to complete work on a new pipeline plant located in Chimbote by the end of the year. By October or November of this year, Siderperú expects to complete a second phase of the project, which consists of installing a second steel pipe line. In addition, to support two subway lines, Siderperú will also invest in power plants.
