Sapling Spirits, the London-based spirits company, has recently launched a range of vodkas available in eye-catching aluminum bottles supplied by Vetroplas in collaboration with its Spanish manufacturing partner, Envases. This initiative is part of the company’s mission to produce sustainable products and packaging. As a BCorp certified company, Sapling has demonstrated its commitment to exceptional sustainable performance and transparency in its practices.

Aluminum is 100% recyclable and aligns with a strong consumer trend towards environmentally friendly packaging. In addition, because aluminum is lighter than glass, fuel use is reduced when transporting finished containers. Aluminum recycling uses, on average, 90% less energy than glass bottles. Sapling also chose to use 100% recycled aluminum (PCR), which further enhances the packaging’s green credentials.

The 5 cl aluminum bottles supplied by Vetroplas, which feature ROPP threading and a BPA NI PE coating, are finished with an aluminum screw cap. Distinctive decoration was achieved by offset printing the design on a white base coat and sealed with a matte varnish.

Commenting on the launch, Ned Neville-Rolfe, Chief Operating Officer, said: “We have a distinctive range of vodkas, and this new packaging format offers both low carbon credentials and great on-shelf visibility. The ease with which aluminum bottles can be recycled, as well as the fact that they offer 100% PCR aluminum, were also important factors in our choice of Vetroplas bottles.”
