The world’s leading aluminium producer Rusal has been awarded the EcoVadis silver medal for sustainability, one of the world’s largest and most trusted providers of corporate sustainability ratings. The Russian company received the EcoVadis Bronze medal as early as 2020.
This year, the multinational has once again been awarded the EcoVadis Silver medal following an independent assessment, which confirms Rusal’s significant progress in improving sustainable development practices compared to the 2020 assessment.
The silver medal recognizes the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. EcoVadis also provides intelligence and collaborative performance improvement tools for global supply chains.
Irina Bakhtina, Rusal’s Director of Sustainable Development, adds, “We know how attentive our consumers and partners are to EcoVadis ratings. Their assessment and methodology are known, first of all, for their uncompromising character and constant tightening of requirements. It is even more gratifying that the assessment of Rusal’s progress towards global best practices in the field of sustainable development has resulted in such a high rating. However, we will definitely not rest on our laurels with regard to what has already been achieved. The next goal of our aluminium giant is to achieve the gold level”.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s largest and most recognized corporate sustainability rating platforms, regularly assessing more than 75,000 organizations in 160 countries. It also evaluates companies’ policies, actions and reports on environmental impact, human and labour rights compliance, business ethics and sustainable procurement practices.
