Just weeks after its win at the UK Packaging Awards, Roberts Metal Packaging has been awarded the Best in Metal Award 2024, for its collaboration with Marc Jacobs on ‘Daisy Drops’.
The Best in Metal is an annual award given by the Metal Packaging Manufacturers Association (MPMA) to celebrate success and innovation in the metal packaging industry. The winner is selected by the trade association from shortlisted finalists in the MPMA-sponsored metal packaging category at the UK Packaging Awards.
MPMA director and CEO Jason Galley said, “The Best in Metal award is one of the highest distinctions in the industry, celebrating outstanding metal packaging from manufacturers who are pushing the boundaries of innovation, creativity and sustainability within the metal packaging industry.
“This year we have seen incredible design attributes from Roberts Metal Packaging with their collaboration on the ‘Daisy Drops’ metal perfume bottle. Its strong retail shelf appeal and high functionality are something we haven’t witnessed this year.”
Roberts Metal Packaging’s compact and eye-catching Daisy Drops aluminum containers, chosen from the company’s Softline collection of bottles, are tote-size containers for perfume capsules. The containers are produced using advanced automated press lines and, with their smooth curves, light fluting, EPE liners for excellent sealing and simple yet incredibly striking design, combine both functionality and style.
“We are incredibly proud to have won both Best in Metal and Metal Pack of the Year for the Marc Jacobs Daisy Drop packaging,” said Chris Saunders, director of Roberts Metal Packaging.
“This outstanding achievement is a testament to the hard work and innovation of our team. The Daisy Drop packaging demonstrates our commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions that not only meet the demands of premium brands like Marc Jacobs, but also offer exceptional design and functionality. It’s an honor to be part of the history of such an iconic product.”
The Best in Metal trophy was presented by Aidan Ruddock, MPMA president, to Chris Saunders during the MPMA’s annual dinner at Drapers’ Hall on Friday, November 15.
At the dinner, MPMA’s Debbie Clements was also honored with the prestigious 40 Years of Service Award in recognition of her outstanding dedication and contribution to the trade association. For four decades, Debbie has been an integral part of the MPMA in her role as administrative manager. Her unwavering commitment, vast experience and strong leadership have left an indelible mark on the industry, earning her the deep respect and admiration of colleagues and peers.
