After four years in dry dock, the industry came together in a big way at PACK EXPO International held October 23-26, 2022 in Chigado. The show drew more than 44,000 attendees, surpassing the last event held in 2018. Nearly 2,200 exhibitors showcased groundbreaking packaging and processing innovations at Chicago’s McCormick Place. This is an important event as PACK EXPO International was the only time the entire industry came together this year.

The program opened its doors with the industry ready to do business after years of steady growth. In 2019, the market for packaging machinery was  10.8 billion while this year the industry broke the $15 billion mark which translates into 40% growth, according to PMMI’s State of the Industry U.S. Packaging Machinery report.

Jim Pittas, PMMI’s president and CEO, said that “the success of PACK EXPO is a testament to the continued growth of our industry, as well as PMMI’s commitment to bringing the industry together to share cutting-edge innovations. No other event this year showcased so many end-to-end solutions, giving attendees everything they need to compete in a changing marketplace.”

Improving operations, meeting sustainability goals and testing new innovations were just some of the reasons consumer packaged goods (CPG) and life sciences companies at PACK EXPO International attended this important business event.
