RECICLOS users, the Return and Reward System (RDS) developed by Ecoembes, have collaborated with 80 social and environmental projects in 2024 by recycling their cans and plastic beverage bottles in one of the yellow containers that have this system or in the RECICLOS machines distributed in high traffic places such as transport stations, hospitals or universities, among others.

Specifically, they have done so through the RECICLOS app, with which they have generated 2.5 million points that they have been able to donate to associations such as CEAFA, Down España, Juegaterapia, Aldeas Infantiles, Fundación Pequeño Deseo, FIEB, Fundación A La Par, Obra Social San Juan de Dios, Fundación Acavall, Fundación Aladina, ASPANOVAS and Fundación Global Nature, among others.

In turn, they have also been able to participate in the development of the first RECICLOS Forest, for which almost 650,000 points have been donated. This forest, which was created in 2022 and is made up of native species of the Sierra Norte de Madrid such as pine, oak, holm oak, holm oak and ash trees, already has more than 20,500 trees and almost 35,000 new plantations.

Other notable donations were related to projects aimed at helping those affected by the hurricane. As a result, 330,000 euros have been donated to the Red Cross and the Food Bank to support the work of both organizations in the affected areas.

The director of communications and marketing at Ecoembes, Nieves Rey, highlighted the growth of this system, which “was born to demonstrate that the impact of recycling is environmental but also social. The system “was born to demonstrate that the impact of recycling is environmental, but also social”. She also highlighted the collaboration with the Red Cross and the Food Bank to help those affected by the hurricane. “Having the opportunity to contribute our grain of sand to what happened in the Valencian Community has shown us how far citizen collaboration can go through small or large gestures,” he said.he pointed out.
