FOR POST-CONSUMER ALUMINUM CONTAINER RECYCLING
PreZero Pyral, the German specialist in aluminium packaging recycling, and Tubex, the German group and leader in the cosmetics packaging industry, have joined forces to form a closed loop in the recycling of post-consumer aluminium packaging.
Taking into account that an aluminum bar or ingot is the raw material used to manufacture aerosol cans, Tubex and its main aluminum ingot supplier developed a special alloy in which the customer has the option to determine himself the amount of recycled material (up to 60%) he wants in the container.
The cooperation with PreZero Pyral ensures that the specially developed aluminium post-consumer recycled material (which has the Ecoloop Certificate, certifying its contribution to the circular economy) is not diverted or extracted from other existing and running cycles, such as beverage cans (UBC).
PreZero Pyral currently recovers approximately 25,000 tonnes of aluminium per year, and this number will increase “significantly” due to additional planned facilities and increased demand.
