PPG appoints Marizeth Carvalho as general manager of Latin America

New changes in PPG’s management team. The American multinational announced the appointment of Marizeth Carvalho as general manager of Latin America South and global director of powder coatings in its industrial coatings business. Specifically,  Carvalho will be responsible for the company’s growth strategy in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, and for the global powder coatings business.

Carvalho assumed his new position last February and will be based in Sumaré, Brazil, PPG’s regional headquarters and the location of its largest manufacturing plant in the region. He replaces Marcio Grossmann, who was recently appointed general manager of PPG, Americas, Packaging Coatings.

“PPG has maintained growth in this region over the years, even in the face of challenging conditions. As a manufacturer of paints, coatings and specialty materials for the most diverse markets, including transportation, civil construction, industrial, agricultural implements and packaging, we look forward to continuing to increase the value we provide to customers in the region,” Carvalho noted.

The new manager has more than 35 years of experience in the coatings industry. He joined PPG in 2016, as senior manager of Industrial Coatings, and has also held positions as director of Industrial Coatings and director of Protective and Marine Coatings in the Latin America South region. His most recent position was general manager for the Americas for Industrial Coatings, based in the United States. Prior to joining PPG, he held commercial and sales positions in large multinational companies in the industry.
