Plasmatreat GmbH’s UK subsidiary, Plasmatreat (UK) Ltd, is increasing its capacity by moving to new premises in South Oxfordshire, UK. This will allow customers to receive better service and use excellent technical facilities for atmospheric plasma technology testing.
Modern plasma technology has revolutionized bonding, printing, painting and sealing processes by modifying surfaces. It can be applied to a wide range of materials such as plastic, metal, glass and fabric. In addition to its high efficiency, it is also more environmentally friendly compared to traditional surface pretreatment methods. This technology has proven to be very useful in various industries due to its ability to effectively activate, clean and coat. Plasmatreat (UK) Ltd, the UK subsidiary of Plasmatreat GmbH, the world leader in atmospheric plasma technology, is experiencing an increase in demand and is responding by expanding its facilities and equipment at its Oxfordshire-based headquarters.
Plasmatreat (UK) Ltd has moved its premises to a new site at Grove Business Park in Wantage, a modern business park in South Oxfordshire. This change gives the company more room to develop and improve application technology, as well as more office space. This will allow them to demonstrate and evaluate their customers’ applications using the innovative Open-air-Plasma and PlasmaPlus technologies.
The installation has two robots that can control all the plasma nozzles thanks to their three axes. In addition, a Plasma Treatment Unit (PTU) is planned to be added for live demonstrations of the various plasma processes such as activation, cleaning and coating. The sales team led by Ray Potgieter and Andrew Nixon will be expanded to include a commissioning and service specialist, allowing the sales staff to focus on supporting new and existing customers. The new team member will be responsible for service, spare parts supply and commissioning.
In addition, Plasmatreat, a company with facilities in the United Kingdom, has expanded its technical team to better serve its customers in the region. They can now offer consulting and support in new application development, including testing of application technology and appropriate systems. Rental systems are also available for those interested. The local team has experts with extensive knowledge and specialized skills in areas such as furniture production, joining processes and lightweight panel production, enabling them to customize plasma systems to specific customer needs.
According to Plasmatreat’s UK general manager, Ray Potgieter, the new facilities that have been built will provide them with excellent resources to organize application-specific open house events in the near future. Overall, the company sees great potential in innovative plasma technology in the UK, especially in growth markets such as batteries, automotive, aeronautics, medical and electronics. With high demand for its environmentally friendly and highly efficient technology, Plasmatreat is looking to expand its presence in the UK market.
