PepsiCo launches Pepsi Prebiotic Cola, the first major innovation in the traditional cola segment in two decades. This new offering contains 5 grams of cane sugar, provides only 30 calories, and uses no artificial sweeteners. It maintains the refreshing and characteristic flavor of Pepsi, but also incorporates 3 grams of prebiotic fiber as a functional ingredient.
Pepsi Prebiotic Cola marks a new chapter for this iconic brand, whose history began in 1898 in New Bern, North Carolina. Initially available in Original Cola and Cherry Vanilla flavors, this beverage offers the classic taste that consumers have appreciated for over 120 years, reinventing the traditional cola experience and reaffirming Pepsi’s commitment to variety within its portfolio.
“From the iconic blue can to Pepsi Zero Sugar, which is the preferred choice of consumers, our catalog has always evolved to adapt to their needs and taste preferences”, commented Ram Krishnan, CEO of PepsiCo Beverages U.S. “Pepsi Prebiotic Cola is the next big step in providing consumers with more options, with functional ingredients, without sacrificing the unmistakable taste of Pepsi. We are eager for the world to try this new offering”.
The product will be available in individual 12-ounce cans and in 8-can packs. Its online launch will be this fall, while it will arrive in stores in early 2026, located in the carbonated soft drinks aisle next to the rest of the Pepsi family. In addition, Pepsi Prebiotic Cola joins PepsiCo’s wide range of beverages, which includes Poppi, the number one modern soda, following its recent acquisition.
