On November 15, Paul Coulson will step down as chairman of Ardagh Metal Packaging SA. Coulson will be succeeded by Herman Troskie, who currently serves as a director of Ardagh Metal Packaging.
Troskie will also assume the chairmanship of Ardagh Group SA and ARD Holdings SA, both companies belonging to the same business chain that includes Ardagh Metal Packaging. The transfer of power from one person to another has been a process that goes back some years. This led to the appointment of Oliver Graham as CEO of Ardagh’s Metal Packaging world, while Dr. Michael Dick became CEO of the Glass Packaging department of the same company.
On the other hand, Paul Coulson has been at the helm of the Ardagh Group since 1998, developing the operation from a single plant located in Dublin with revenues of $50 million. It has since become a global company operating in Europe, the Americas and Africa, with revenues in excess of $9 billion. He is still the chairman of these companies, as well as their majority shareholder.
Finally, Herman Troskie, a director of Ardagh Metal Packaging, Ardagh Group and ARD Holdings, will succeed Paul Coulson as chairman of all three companies and will join Ardagh full time in November. Based in Luxembourg, Troskie will leave his current position as CEO of corporate, legal and tax consulting at Stonehage Fleming, an international family office. He has been a director of the Ardagh Group since 2009 and has been closely involved with the growth and development of the group since then.
